Supporting Local
In conjunction with our “Mortgage That Gives Back” program, WCB donated $52,900 last December to local non-profits. For every home mortgage that closed in 2020, WCB pledged a $100 donation to a non-profit of the mortgage customer’s choice. As a result of this promotion, the Blair Area Community Foundation (BACF) received a check for $37,600 that was distributed among 72 Washington County non-profits. In addition to the BACF donation, WCB also donated $4,000 that was distributed among 15 Burt County non-profits and $11,300 that was distributed among 43 Harrison County non-profits.

Nebraska Mortgage Association Award
Washington County Bank is proud to announce that all five of our mortgage lenders - Cody Carritt, Mike Tupa, Becky Tinkham, Dinah McElroy and Becky Anderson have qualified for the 2020 Nebraska Mortgage Association (NMA) Champions Circle. The NMA Champions Circle recognizes and celebrates the service, dedication, and hard work that leading mortgage professionals put into serving their clients during the home loan process. Community Shred Days
Washington County Bank held their 12th Annual Community Shred Days at all three branch locations in June. A total of 20,000 pounds of paper was shredded this year, proving this to be a VERY popular event in the communities we serve.

Silver Star and Get Smart About Credit Awards
The Nebraska Bankers Association recognized Washington County Bank during their virtual annual convention in May. WCB was awarded the PEP Silver Star Award for making a large number of financial and economic educational presentations in their communities. In addition, the bank also received the Get Smart About Credit Award. These awards wouldn’t be possible without the many dedicated employees we have in Blair, Fort Calhoun and Tekamah who volunteer to teach financial education programs to community groups and schools.

Highway Cleanup
For nearly 30 years, Washington County Bank has been keeping Mile 15 on Hwy 133 clean as part of the Adopt-a-Highway program. Rain or shine, we are proud to do our part in keeping Nebraska beautiful!

Habitat for Humanity
Washington County Bank is committed to the success of the communities we serve, and by investing in Habitat for Humanity in Washington County, we are taking steps to fulfill that commitment. We believe that affordable housing is important not only in Washington County, but across the country, and that is why we are a proud supporter.
